Yan Ness serves as Operating Partner for Michigan Capital Advisor. Yan invests in, advises, and serves as a board member for early-stage SaaS companies. Yan is currently CEO of Verge.io and also serves as a board advisor to MCA portfolio company LightGuide, Inc.

 

Yan has been a serial tech entrepreneur based in Southeast Michigan since 1985. Over that time, he has been a part of seven liquidity events, starting with Systems and Software Group, acquired by Software Services in the early 1990s, and most recently Online Tech, acquired by Schurz Communications in early 2018.​

Yan advises MCA on various technology and venture capital topics, including SaaS strategy, business models, leadership and culture, go-to-market strategy and tactics, and M&A. Mr. Ness holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan where he studied Computer Science.
